The LE2020 is a 4Gbps, two port TOE engine, that allows both 1Gbps ports to run at full duplex, full line rate. “LeWiz has broken through all the barriers and has produced a chip that completely offloads the whole TCP/IP stack, just as the market is taking off” said Ken Pope, VP of Marketing, “ The LE2020 has two ports, and can handle 256,000 simultaneous connections while consuming only 1W of power! The architecture is scalable to 40Gbps. Competing solutions have only one port, can only handle 1000 connections, but consume 10-20Watts of power. They do not offload the whole stack, and are not scalable - requiring new architectures to move to the next generation. We have the right architecture, with the right features and performance, at the right time.” The per port cost of the LE2020 will be about half that of competing TOE architectures as the product rolls out. The chip is supported on Linux, Solaris, Windows Server 2003, and will support the Microsoft Windows chimney TCP/IP Offload architecture. Existing customers will receive a free driver upgrade for their system products when Microsoft makes the Chimney Offload APIs generally available. Microsoft’s new Chimney Offload Architecture gives the market the performance and scalability customers need for improving server and storage applications, while preserving application compatibility and standard network management practices.
